Simon, a border collie recovering from his injuries, came towards Sammie, a 4-month-old boxer mix, and carefully placed his paw on Sammie. Although there were weeks between both rescues of the dog, Simon seemed to know exactly what Sammie was going through after a surgical procedure at Rescue Dogs Rock NYC.

“They met at the vet and Simon instantly formed this lovely animal friendship with Sammie,” Jackie O’Sullivan, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, told Bored Panda. “She’s protecting him.” Sammie went through hell. The poor dog wasn’t just spray-painted; was shot in the head and was dragged out of line by a car. Simon is always checking on his little best friend. While Simon will soon recover and be able to adopt a dog, Sammie still has a long way to go.

“We’re not sure at this time [whether Sammie will fully recover] because he just had surgery,” O’Sullivan noted. “The vet needs two weeks to see if his leg can be saved. Infection is the biggest concern. There is a risk of losing 1-2 legs, but we are doing everything to save them.”
This is a beautiful coordinated picture of the friendship and love of animals. Every day we have to learn and nurture the dogs next to us.
I will eat you,
cute creatures,
I loved them so much,
You are so sweet,
