The Abused Dog Has The Most Unusual Smile And It’s Beautiful
When Zipper arrived at a shelter after being found wandering the streets, staff noticed the 8-year-old dog was unusual. He’s a normal dog with a wonderful, friendly personality – other than a deformed chin that gives him the most attractive, one-of-a-kind grin.
According to Huntsville Animal Services staff, Zipper’s distinctive smile seems to have no effect on him. He eats regularly and enjoys prizes and does not seem to realize that he is unusual.
“We don’t know what causes the jaw malformation,” Huntsville Animal Services volunteer Erin Webb told The Dodo. “We have no idea what caused it.” He has a large lower bite and his teeth are extremely far apart.”
Depending on how Zipper was when he appeared at the shelter, he was most likely an outdoor dog during his lifetime and was not ideally cared for. She has severe fur loss as a result of flea allergies and appears to have given birth to a large number of puppies in the past. She may have been kicked out because she was no longer wanted or needed, but her new shelter family realizes how precious she is and can’t wait to help her find a permanent home.
The zipper may look different from other dogs…
… yet you can’t help recognizing him when you see his unusual grin.
“She’s a quiet and kind girl because there’s an aging dog,” Webb explained. “She prefers to cuddle rather than travel.” He likes to play with other dogs and became friends with our other old dog, Mr. Mike.”
Zipper gets on well with other dogs and seems to get along well with children. According to Shelter, she actually has a beautiful and gentle nature and could likely do well in elaborate households. Zipper has probably had a rough life and is looking for a place to retire with a family that will accept him for who he is.
